Scripture reading for April 2nd: Luke 22, Psalm 66, Proverbs 4
Key Scriptures: Luke 22:28-31 “”You are those who have stayed with Me in My trials, and I assign to you, as My Father assigned to Me, a kingdom, that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.””
Jesus encouraged those who had remained with Him and stayed true with a promise of reward for their faithfulness. They would be seated at Christ’s table in His kingdom and then assigned greater responsibilities there. Peter was told that Christ had prayed that his faith would not fail. Jesus made a faith confession: when (not if) Peter turned back (repented), he must strengthen his brothers.
Faith Confession: Jesus, thank You for praying for me that my faith will not fail! I will stay true to You and strengthen those brothers and sisters in the faith that need encouragement! In You I dwell in a place of abundance!
Psalm 66:10-12 “For You, O God, have tested us; You have tried us as silver is tried. You brought us into the net; You laid a crushing burden on our backs; You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet You have brought us out to a place of abundance!”
