Scripture reading for November 15th: 2nd Peter 2, Psalm 85-86, Proverbs 13
Key Scriptures: 2nd Peter 2:6-10 “. . .if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes He condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if He rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard; then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority.”
As Peter faced his own execution, he wrote to believers concerning God’s ability to punish the wicked and also to save and keep the righteous. God is faithful and is a righteous judge. He will punish the wicked who are captured by sinful flesh and resist and despise God’s authority. He will deliver the righteous from trials. The Lord is true to His Word!
Faith Confession: I trust God to right all wrongs and to keep me at peace in the midst of this world and it’s evil people. To Him be all glory and praise!
Psalm 85:8-9 “Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace to His people, to His saints; but let them not turn back to folly. Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land.”
